    Music was an essential part of civic, religious, and courthy life in the Renaissance. Music composed by the church was the most important music of early Renaissance. The burgundian court especially attracted composers and musicians from all ove Europe. The Burgundian court refers to an area encompassing the low countries. Pu Fay set the stage for the next generations of the Renaissance composers. In the 1500, Franco-Flemish composers dominated European art music.
